Race cycling, leisurely cycling and mountain biking in Tyrol
A star is born! And in fact one that has the potential to be an unbeatable record holder. We don't want to beat around the bush but in a nutshell: Tyrol is a real paradise for cyclists and mountain bikers.
Mountain biking in Tyrol is a real pleasure, stunning views and the very best natural thrills await you besides countless trails and MTB routes. The well signposted cycle path network ranges over 720 kilometres in the Wipp Valley and Stubai Valley alone and promises both beginners and passionate mountain bikers an incredible ride.
Mountain biking in Tyrol means experiencing unspoilt nature, finding and mastering your personal challenge, setting off on magical trails and taking away unforgettable memories with you. Rustic mountain huts invite you to take a break and recharge your batteries with a little snack, the surroundings impress with imposing views of mountains and a gentle natural idyll.
However, racing cyclists also really get their money's worth in the region between Zillertal and Stubaital: countless routes lead from the Brenner pass main road over wonderful roads packed with panoramic views to the Tyrol Oberland and Unterland around Innsbruck.
The most beautiful Alpine passes are waiting for passionate racing cyclists in nearby South Tyrol – for example, the legendary Ötztal cycling marathon (238 km long and over 5,500 metres in altitude) leads through the Wipp Valley.
Pay attention leisurely cyclists! Coming from the Inntal cycle path you can reach the Wipp Valley by passing through Innsbruck's holiday villages Igls and Patsch and enjoy the view of the Tyrolean mountains along the old Roman road. From the Brenner pass the Eisacktal cycle path, one of the most beautiful, modern and safe cycle paths in the whole of the alpine region, leads over Sterzing and Brixen to Bozen!
The team at the Parkhotel Matrei will be happy to advise you and recommend the most worthwhile tours in Tyrol and South Tyrol to you!
