Whether you travel by car, train or plane – the Parkhotel Matrei is easily reached whichever means of transport you choose! And if you arrive by car there is a large parking space in front of the hotel.
The Wipp Valley is reached via the Brennerautobahn (motorway). Matrei lies right by the Brenner Pass in the northern part of the Wipp Valley in Austria, only 20KM from Innsbruck. Arrival by train
The Brennerbahn train will bring you from the Tyrolean capital Innsbruck to Matrei at the Brenner Pass in only 15 minutes. The Parkhotel Matrei is located opposite the Matrei train station at the Brenner Pass. The exact arrival times can be found in the train information services of the Austrian National Trains ÖBB.
Arrival by plane
Innsbruck Airport is the best choice for flying to the Wipp Valley. From here it is only 25KM, which you can travel either by train or car. Alternatively you can also fly into Munich Airport (220KM) or Zurich Airport (310KM). The following low-budget carriers fly to Innsbruck:
Arrival by car
The best way to reach Matrei, near the Austrian Brenner Pass, from Germany is via the Kiefersfelden border crossing. Follow the Autobahn A12 (motorway) and change at the Innsbruck-Mitte connection to the Autobahn A13 towards Brenner. Take the exit Matrei/Steinach and then turn left. Follow the A road B182 for approximately 200 metres – the Parkhotel Matrei is located on your left opposite the train station.
Coming from Italy choose the Brenner border crossing. Follow the Autobahn A22 and change at the connection Brennersee to the Autobahn A13 towards Innsbruck. Take the Matrei/Stainach exit and then turn left. Follow the B182 for approximately 200 metres – the Parkhotel Matrei is located on your left opposite the train station.
